LOWNDES OFFICERS GRADUATE FROM ABAC POLICE ACADEMY

TIFTON— Robert F. Davis and Michael W. Mahoney of the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office and Newton S. Key, II, Robert D. Leatherberry, Jeremy N. Nelms, Daniel A. North, and Lester D. Winningham from the Valdosta Police Department were among 17 individuals who recently received certificates at graduation exercises for the 231st session of the Georgia Public Safety Training Center (GPSTC) Regional Police Academy at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College.

Davis received first place in the Firearms competition for the session.

The GPSTC regularly holds multi-week intensive training sessions designed to acquaint officers with state-of-the-art law enforcement techniques. The Academy operates in cooperation with the Division of Social Science at ABAC.
