VALEDICTORIAN CHOSE ABAC
FOR
LOCATION, ACADEMIC CHALLENGE
TIFTON—Greg
Bowen, a political science and pre-law major from Fitzgerald, began his
academic career at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College a year ago, but before
he attended he had a lot of factors to consider.
“A lot went into my decision to attend ABAC,” Bowen said. “I had just gotten married in July so I wanted
something close to home. I also wanted a school that challenged me.”
Once on the campus, Bowen found out he had made the right decision.
“I liked the small class sizes. Here, you get to know your
instructors and form bonds with them that you really can’t establish at a place
like the University of Georgia (UGA),” said Bowen.

“I grew up with a diverse family and saw how people were
treated due to ethnicity, background, and other factors. I didn’t like the
injustice of all of that,” said Bowen.
As for the future, Bowen would like to venture out to a
thriving metropolis like
“I see myself in a bigger city working for a private
corporate firm as a prosecutor somewhere like the City of
Bowen plans to graduate from ABAC in spring 2010. He has not
yet decided where to further his educational career. He is debating on whether
to complete his remaining two years at ABAC, or attend UGA or
