ALUMNI CAN CELEBRATE ABAC ON MARCH 6-7

TIFTON – Alumni of Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College will enjoy a new look to the reunions at their alma mater this year.  The name of the event has been changed to Celebrate ABAC, and it will serve as the annual homecoming gathering on the ABAC campus on March 6-7.

Festivities begin at noon on March 6 with the Golden Alumni Luncheon in Gressette Gym.  Members of the Class of 1959 and all those before that date can come and visit with old friends during the luncheon, which is available at a cost of $15 per person.

A memorial service will be held at the Chapel of All Faiths at 5:30 p.m. to honor ABAC alumni as well as faculty and staff who have passed away.

At the culmination of the first day’s celebration, alumni can attend the Golden Alumni Dinner and Social at 7 p.m. in Gressette Gym. There is a $20 registration fee for this event.

Also at 7 p.m. on March 6, alumni of clubs and organizations will join together at various locations across the campus and across Tifton for reunions and plenty of tales of days gone by.

The annual ABAC Alumni Association awards ceremony opens the Celebrate ABAC activities on March 7 at 10 a.m. in Howard Auditorium. Former ABAC students will be honored for achievements in a variety of fields including education, agriculture, business, and health care.

After the awards ceremony, a brand new event titled the Celebrate ABAC alumni luncheon will be held at noon in Gressette Gym.  Box lunches will be available for $10 per person.  Former classmates can then spread out at reunions by decades at tables across the gym floor.

In the afternoon, the ABAC Ambassadors will offer campus tours beginning at 1:30 p.m., and the baseball Stallions will be featured in a 2 p.m. doubleheader against Gordon College.  Pre-registration is required for all meal events.  The deadline to register is Feb. 27.
