ABAC ACCEPTING NOMINATIONS FOR ATHLETICS HALL OF FAME

TIFTON - Nominations are now being accepted for the inaugural class of the Athletics Hall of Fame at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College.  The honorees will be inducted during Tailgate 2008 at the ABAC vs. South Georgia Tech basketball games on Feb. 21 as one of the ABAC Centennial Celebration events.

      Any individual, living or deceased, may be considered for induction into the ABAC Athletics Hall of Fame.  Individuals are nominated in one of three categories: Athlete, Coach, or Contributor.

      “We are very excited about the establishment of the Athletics Hall of Fame,” said Athletics Director Alan Kramer.  “And the ABAC Centennial is the perfect time to initiate this event.” 

        Kramer said a new class will be inducted annually into the Hall of Fame. Director of Alumni Relations Nancy Coleman is also assisting with the project.

      A nomination form can be found at www.abac.edu, click on Athletics and then ABAC Athletics Hall of Fame.   Nominations are due no later than Jan. 10, 2008. For more information, interested persons can contact Coleman at 229-391-4898 or Kramer at 229-391-4928.
