ABAC Baseball NewsWritten By: Assistant Baseball Coach, Jeff Kilgore ABAC vs Thomas University JV February 4, 2012 Game 2 In the second game of the double header the Stallions sent Eric Ricks to the mound to try and even their season record at three. Ricks wasn’t given as much run support as the offense tallied only one run in the first on Will Hinson’s RBI single. Ricks was equal to the task though as he mowed through the Thomas lineup allowing only two hits over his six innings of work. Ricks was sharp in his dominating outing as he fanned five and only allowed one free pass. In the fifth the Stallions gave themselves a little breathing room as the offense struck for five runs on three hits. Neal Gandee singled to right and moved Will Wilson, who had walked, into scoring position. Walks to both Hinson and Cam Cain pushed a run across the plate and set the table for Moe Arp’s single to score two more runs. After a wild pitch moved both Cain and Arp into scoring position Hayden Kudela wasted little time in picking up two RBI’s with his single back up the middle. With the double header sweep the Stallions evened up their overall record. Eric Ricks 6 IP, 5 K’s, 0 ER |
