ANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION VACANCY
Position Title: Police Officer
Description: This is a full-time twelve-month position. The primary duties involve patrolling of campus, ability to handle a variety of criminal and administrative situations, which may require strenuous physical exertion, such as: lifting tires, walking stairs, checking and locking doors, foot pursuit of suspects, driving a vehicle, driving at night, mechanics of arrest, and self defense.
Qualifications: Must have graduated from high school with diploma, or completed G.E.D. work and have certificate. Must be able to read and write, comprehend written memoranda, write reports legibly and clearly, and interpret directions from written text. Cannot have record of felony on criminal records. Must be able to successfully pass background investigation by the Office of Public Safety. POST certified police officer preferred, employment contingent on ability to become certified by POST, minimum age of officer 21 years. Prefer to have candidates with previous law enforcement experience, college degree or experience, and experience in campus law enforcement.
Salary: $27,040
