ANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION VACANCY
Position Title:
Director of Student Activities
Description: This is a full-time twelve-month position. The Director of Student Activities is a member of the Student Affairs staff and reports directly to the Dean of Student Life and Housing. Work involves planning and coordinating programs which contribute to an extracurricular learning experience for students which complements and enhances the education students receive in the classroom.
Specific duties include
· Advising the Campus Activities Board and attending their events
· Advising the Student Government Association
· Assisting with ABAC’s Orientation programs
· Serving as coordinator of events sponsored by student organizations
· Coordinating advising of student clubs and organizations
· Performing continuous assessment and evaluation
of student activities programs and services
· Serving as resident manager for one residence hall (approximately 370 beds); a two-bedroom fully furnished apartment is included in the compensation package
· Sharing evening and weekend duty with other Housing staff
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and some activities programming experience on a college campus. Master’s degree in an appropriate student affairs discipline preferred. Working knowledge of student activities issues and trends, including Greek life. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required.
Salary: Commensurate with experience. Excellent benefit package, including University System of Georgia Tuition Remission Program. Fully furnished two-bedroom apartment with all utilities included.
