The expansion in the field of agricultural engineering has created an increasing need for individuals trained as professionals in basic science, agricultural and engineering subjects. These professionals will be engaged in industry with machinery companies, feed manufacturers, electric power suppliers, building material suppliers, government service with the Soil Conservation Service, Agricultural Research Service, Agricultural Marketing Service, activities of the United States Department of Agriculture, teaching, research, or extension at colleges and universities, or self-employed as consultants, contractors, or sales engineers.
