A student with high SAT/ACT math scores may exempt College Algebra. This
enables him/her to begin in Pre-Calculus or Trigonometry if he/she exempts
College Algebra. Trigonometry may be exempted by acceptable scores on CLEP
or departmental examination. A student who scores below the college’s
minimum level on the placement examination is required to successfully
complete learning support math before attempting Mathematical Modeling,
College Algebra, or other math courses.
