Migration for all institutions is expected to be completed no later than September 2010 to coincide with SunGard's discontinuation of support for Version 7. This decision was based on several factors: -SunGard's recent announcement of extended support for version 7.x until September 2010, -The nature and extent of other system changes scheduled for USG institutions during this calendar year (i.e., ADP Shared Services Project, PS Financials Consolidation, Vista 8 Upgrade), -Other key benefits include the addition of a campus beta testing window, institutional flexibility in scheduling the upgrade to match resource availability, and an upgrade version that has been fully tested with functional Vista 8, ADP, and Consolidated Financials systems. The September Beta release will incorporate updates from SunGard HE for fall and is intended to match the December production software release. Campuses desiring to work with a local beta installation of Banner 8 in the summer can obtain early access to Banner 8 after July 1. This early beta version will include Georgia Enhancements on Banner 8.1 only. Campuses that have a significant number of local modifications could use the early access opportunity to get a "head start" with evaluating and uplifting their local modifications in a Banner 8 beta environment.
